Control tactics
Small-sided games and designed constraints across handfighting, clinch, grounded, and transitional ranges.
Saturday 05 Dec / 9:00 AM / Cary Police Department, North Carolina
The session
A practical introduction to weapons-based defensive tactics on the mats with training weapons, aimed at developing officers who perceive opportunities and act rather than officers who apply prescribed solutions to predetermined problems. Small-sided games and designed constraints work across the operational ranges: handfighting, clinch and wall-pin, grounded encounters, and the transitions between them. Covers representative learning design, implementation inside an existing defensive tactics program, and the common misconceptions and lessons learned along the way.
